2020 begins - with Israeli Micro Armour

The kitchen is finished and I have been able to do some minis. Currently got 2 projects on go:
1) a 28mm scale battleboard to act as a window display piece  - roughly 3ftx1ft. Will be up for sale for £120.
2) Yom Kippur way project - specifically Chinese Farm. I have started Adan's division and I have completed painting by first battalion of Centurions (still need aerials and basing materials). C&C appreciated.

These are Heroics and Ros minis.

Need to research alternative air recognition (if they existed) for future formations to perhaps mix it up.

As you may have guessed from the title this is an advert for some of my excess minis. Money is needed for the house and I haven't really had opportunity to play with these guys and don't see the opportunity moving forward.

They are 2 wargame standard painted armies in 6mm for the Seven Years War - specifically set up for recreating the battle of Lobositz. All the models are Baccus and have been based in the same format which when out together makes the units pop. The bases currently have markings for Lobositz but these are just attached by blue tac and can be easily removed.

I have a computer! Well a chromebook, but it will more than do for this.

I have been wanting to post as I've actually got quite a lot of painting down since January but my phone for whatever reason wouldn't allow me to upload photos onto here so it seemed like a waste just doing very wordy posts.

You may have seen some of my posts on facebook and twitter (@EnigmaRawsy) and if not then why not. I have been painting a fair variety including a sudden surge in 10mm models - in fact the only thing really holding me back is a lack of bases!

So expect many photos to arrive soon!

10mm WW2 British Commandos

2019

Its 2019 and frankly everything is all over the place so who knows whats going to happen! I am looking for work so anyone out there look me up. :) The house move is supposedly going ahead towards end of this month so thats gonna be manic, wedding in March, 30th in March and not got a computer so don't know how often I can update on here (certainly with pictures). The super secret project should soon be complete so I shall post pictures of that then.

Since this picture was taken I have added the resin but its still needs some water effects and touching up where it has leeched out at the edges. There is also trees to be added.

I also received (well ordered) for Christmas, the Cruel Seas starter set. I've painted a few boats up and I'm probably going to get a few bigger boats when finances allow. Anyone who knows where I can get waterlined or easy to waterline 1/350 scale boats would be much appreciated.

Other plans for this year are none existent as frankly I have no idea what is going to happen so don't see any point in plan making :p

MDF Ruin

As a step back from making hills, I decided to take a couple of my pieces of MDF ruins and base them to make a more usable terrain piece. So far I like how its gone and so I may make a lot more for use for Frostgrave and Bolt Action.

I started off by selecting the two pieces and marking out on a base the outline of the former building. The planks were marked out using a stanley knife whilst the exterior cobbles were formed using a rotary tool.

Once the pieces are glued down I'll be adding sculptamold around the joins and texturing them to give the appearance of rubble piles. I will also add some tufts and flock to the cracks in the slabs.

Hills For Sale

Just wanted to give you an example of the hills I am making and selling both through here and at Lancaster Board and Sword.

Here is a few of the selection of hills I'm producing. As you can imagine there is not going to be a fixed shape or size as these are handmade.

Once these are completed then I will be bulk building a few outcrops and linear terrain. This first selection of hills is my desert range - although they also fit in quite nicely with my Southern Italy/Sicily based Fallschirmjager.

The minis you see are from Warlord games and are a range of plastic and metal miniatures. There seems to be a good range of places that they can stand - an issue with a lot of hills I have witnessed.

Not the best of reports but a few pictures to show my Desert battleboard in action. Another product available on Price upon Request basis.

The game ran well - had a good to and fro to it. The conclusion was always in doubt until eventually the relentless nature left the British with insufficient troops to make any more attacks.

All in all, a good game. Mistakes were made and we'll learn before our next game - Dan is keen to swap sides and give this scenario another go before we move onto some more complex scenarios.

British throw up defences around a captured checkpoint. Unfortunately they were well spent and German forces were able to retake the positions.

In future I may look at buying some smaller mins to play out these desert combats in future.
